Delinquent Account Policy

The City of Edgerton has in place the following
Delinquent Account Policy which applies to non-payment of water bills:

After two consecutive months of non-payment, the water service to the customer will be disconnected and the following will apply:

If the City receives no contact from the customer within ten (10) days of dated letter, or by the indicated date on the disconnection notice, their water service will be disconnected. The meter will be padlocked, and the customer will be charged a reconnection fee. If the meter is altered in any way, or the lock removed, the City will notify the Sheriff’s Department and/or the Edgerton Police Department for legal action and an additional $200 will be charged to the customer’s account.

All outstanding balances, including reconnection fees and tampering fee (if applicable), must be paid in full (by cash or money order) prior to reconnection of water services.

All reconnection of services will be performed only during the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
