The North Platte Intermediate School is part of the North Platte R-1 School District. Located at 900 Lewis Street in Edgerton, the Intermediate School serves approximately 125 students in grades 4-6. The school provides a full range of programs designed to meet individual needs of students.

The curriculum ensures the maximum development of each student by emphasizing mastery of basic skills in Communication Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Library, Computer Literacy, PE/Health, Art, Vocal Music and Instrumental Music.

North Platte provides a number of Exemplary Programs, which are designed to meet the individual needs and interests of our students. They include the birthday book program, Spell-A-Thon, field trips, art fair, Math Manipulatives, summer enrichment program, science club, Grandparents’ Day, hands-on science instruction, paint and easel club, cultural arts assemblies, after-school tutoring, talent show, honor choir, enrichment programs, math and logic contests, regional math contest, math club, Panthers Achieving Character, and spelling bee.

Technology at the schools has allowed teachers to integrate multimedia experiences into the instructional process. Networked computers, LCD projectors and document cameras, and interactive whiteboards are utilized in classroom and lab settings as effective and efficient learning tools. Additional Services include the Title I Reading Program, Special Education Services and Speech Therapy

Parent involvement is highly valued and strongly encouraged by the school through Open House, orientation, parent handbooks, newsletters, progress reports, and conferences.

The North Platte PTA is an active organization which offers patrons the opportunity to enhance the education of students in a variety of ways.
